Marseille and Aix-en-Provence: two exhibitions for the Grand Atelier.
The Aix-en-Provence section of two part exhibition The Grand Atelier du Midi, addresses the question of form and naturally looks to Cezanne, the "father" of modern art as regarded by Braque, Matisse and Picasso.
The terms "form" and "colour", which may seem like opposites, are intimately mixed in a complementary way by Cezanne. This component of the exhibition includes over one hundred masterpieces from major collections of modern art from around the world.
